Pocketworks goes to the French Alps

Our Christmas 2024 bi-annual training event took us to the snowy French Alps, where almost the entire company met for three days of training and knowledge share. The themes this year were:

• A workshop all about raising the quality bar in our work
• A hackathon to explore integrating AI into a health app
• A hackathon to explore automating testing
• A speed-networking event

The venue was a modern ski challet surrounded by mountains.

Since it's Christmas, it came complete with a few gonks, which we were clearly fond of!

The workshop on quality was brill, focusing on how quality is a team sport and not just something the quality control folks should be responsible for.

Since we develop and grow apps, there was a lot of focus on the quality of the UX and user interface. We completed a task to spot as many issues as possible in a sample app.

On the last night, we celebrated in style with our awards ceremony.

And over the weekend it was a bit more chill. Some of us took a trek out in the snow to go grab some food from a local restaurant.
